A while ago, I had a virus on my computer (Security Suite I think) which somehow found and deleted my tskmgr.exe which means I can't open my Task Manager. Unhelpfully, Microsoft does not offer an easy replacement on their website, so is there any place I can get it from? I tried sysinternals but that didn't work, so I have no idea what to do.

You have a function on the computer called CHKDSK.......Start > run > type in CHKDSK..hit ok...command line functions should appear as F-paramater....let it run the scan anmicrosoft download manager vistad it will replace files missing....after the scan is completed it will disappear on it's own...do not click off....once the scan is complete...reboot the computer and try right clicking on the bottom task bar and then select Task Mgr...........
The only way to get tskmgr.exe would be to reinstall windows. Just back up all the stuff that is on their on a decent external hard drive.
It would be preferable to format your hard drive after something like that happens, the virus could still be there and you would want to get rid of microsoft download manager vistait before it does any more damage.
If you don't have Vista on a CD, then you should buy it. Or get Windows 7 from the store. What better time for an upgrade?
If you have any questions about formatting your computer then just email me - stphndemos@gmail.com
I have formatted my computer plenty of times so I can help you through it.
Try the System File Checker. It will replace missing or corrupt Windows system files.
Instructions here:
This should not damage any of your other files or programs.
