Sikh's are known to be brave warriors who fought against oppression from the Mughal's who were trying to invade and covert everyone in their path to Islam.
I was just wondering what would have happened if the Mughal's would have advanced passed the Sikh's in their battles? Would there be a more distinct Muslim population In India?
hindus would be praying to the west and hindu woman in burkhas
The first liberation from islam of the Punjab happened in 1757, due to the Hindu Marathas under Raghunatha Rao, a brahmin, brother of the Peshwa ruler brave what ifof Pune.
Sikhs Misl started gaining in Power after 1766, under Jassu Singh Ahluwalia. Even at its height, under Ranjit Singh, Sikh power was mostly in Pakistan, Kashmir and Afghanistan.
So in these areas, Sikh power rolled back islam, but in most of residual India, it was rolled back by Hindu Marathas, Hindu Gurkhas from Nepal and the british
This map is from 1760, and this is before any sikh kingdom,
The green areas are muslim ruled, the brown area in the center is Hindu Maratha liberated, And the pink area near Bengal is british rbrave what ifuled
As you can see, well before the rise of Sikh power, muslim rule had been erased over most of India
Ranjit Singhs kingdom was almost entirely in Pakistan
I sometimes wonder that as well !
Yeah , perhaps all of north india may have been muslim
and perhaps even south india if maratha empire fell !
All the world was busy in annexing nations and building empires, but Indians were busy in art and music. That's why the Mughals could invade us. Now India can fight all the Islamic nations on its own!
