This is a world wide issue that has been going on way to long. Just what is it about black people that you despise?
blacks look different, have the darkest skin, and different facial features...people, use that as an excuse to hate.....

and because blacks are a minority and have no power to fight back against the majority....blacks have to put up with it.

other countries kinda followed America and the UK in hating blacks...its like a sick sport for people.

we havent gotten less racist in society....we are still just as racist...but in different ways now, meaning....rather than be out loud about it, everyone is quiet.

this website only further proves just how racist it is out there....i sersiously cant blame any black person for not trusting white people....ive heard whites say a whole lot of crap about blacks when they werent in the room...you just dont know who to trust....and because of that, why trust anyone at all?

there is no excuse for racism...and anyone that tries to justify it, is just trying to avoid the fact that they are wrong.

i'm very irritated with people. primarily the people who love to use racism as a scapegoat. society needs a huge reality and attitude check. there are racists that exist within all races. seriously, just shut your mouths and be happy.

Racism is only towards black people. Blacks don't have power. All the other minority races are considered honorary whites so they don't suffer racism.

I believe it's because in history, Europeans were xenophobes. Once they started traveling the world and seeing people that looked extremely opposite of what they looked like it scared them.They could not understand why this was. Of course these are the same people that believed the world was flat. Anyway, facial features were different, hair was different & skin so they assumed that it's because they were a less evolved species of human. Different than them and thus inferior. Darwin, one of the most respected & famous scientist, also supported this theory. His theory of evolution is that we all came from one common ancestor, possibly apes. Many Europeans equated black feature to that of apes. So they considered them animals, and stupid, & savages. Also black skin was considered evil. It was believed to be a curse.(Ham) This is how they justified abusing, and enslaving them. These kind of thoughts & beliefs have been passed on from generation to generation for centuries. People fear what they don't understand.
ok so this is what i learned in my history class.. not me.. my teacher saying this.

when the spanish and english started populating america they needed extra labor so they started to get indentured servants (men who were promised that if they came over from england and worked for several years for free that they would be set free and get a small plot of land).

well then all of the sudden thewhy black people are racist idea of having "slaves" came up and at first there was no racism... it was just black people over in america working sort of like indentured servants (most of them were also set free at first).

but then things started to change.. different situations/conflicts were being brought up new laws had to be made. all these little laws that were made in order to make sure that the "slave" stayed with their owners became more and more particular to where it became a "slave or not slave" society. there were just as many slaves as there were whites at one point and so it was distinguished that the whites were=not slaves... and the blacks were= slaves (even though some white people were slaves and some blacks were owners).

this of course was not politically correct. but there was so much going on in America at the time that no one could take the time to set everything straight (especially with the whole declaration of independence saying that all men were equal- a contradiction to slavery)

hundreds of years past with the whole "black=slave" "white=not slave" that the newer generations forgot what the world was like without black people being known as slaves. so strong stigma's were formed, especially because the government separating the blacks and whites enforced this stigma.

and now 100's of years after slavery has been abolished and only a few years after blacks gaining TRUE equal rights there is still the stigma and it's going to take time for people to get over it because this stigma was impounded in Americans heads for generations.

i feel sort of the same way about people's feelings about the gay community. there is a strong stigma and it's also going to take many years for some progress.

the world just sucks.. i wish we both were born in a much later time when no one will be racist or homophobic etc.

They hate black people because it is easy, and some do it because its an easy thing to fall back on, people have hated black people for a long time, so even now, its not that surprising. Most racists don't have a good reason for it, they just do it because they do it... peer pressure sometimes and others just to have something to take their aggression and anger out on.

Black people LOOK different, we stand apart from everyone else, so it doesn't take a whole lot of brainpower to try to mentally separate us from others, or to look down on black people as different than everyone else and therefore WORSE than everyone else. (to feel better about themselves or something)
Personally I am beyond caring why people hate me as a Black man. I will only be a victim of racism once. Any place where the powers that be seeks to marginalize or oppress me for whatever reason is a place that I won't remain. I don't feel the need to force others to accept me or those like me. I feel as a people we have much work to do in cleaning our own house. I can't be concerned with what others think right now. My focus is on what I need to do for myself.
I don't know. People are also predjudiced against, whites, asians, hispanics, Native americans, jews, muslims, arabs...and the list goes on and on... It's ridiculous. See, you should just ignore people like that. They're not on your mental level...You see, they were only taught beliefs from the 1800s by their parents. And they're stupid enough to blame their hate on Christianity and Science... (i swear...) You should just associate yourself with those who are living in the new millenium. =]
Racism is world wide and not strictly focus on black people, matter of fact there are black people who are racists towards whites, Asians racists towards other Asians, even whites towards other whites. Racism is a two way process in every culture or ethnicity.
its not only blawhy black people are racistck people, but i've wondered this also because it makes no sense to me. Nobody really has clarified to me "why" some people are racist.
I personally like blakc people, i think they are very unique and fun..but it may be because i am also from a differnt ethnic background (Brown) so i might be a little sympathetic

Just plain ignorance. Why do people hate Jews, Mormons, blacks, muslims....just think about that.
When I talk to a person who is racist against blacks, it has been because of personal experience. And I used to say it was because of ignorance. But, they all have reasons for hating, so how could that be ignorant, just personal opinions. The things they say they hate about blacks is the thuggish behavior and appearance, rudeness and attitudes, laziness, and excessive loudness. Now assuming all blacks are like this is ignorant. But if those experiences hold true and continue to hold true with those you meet, then you are making a judgement based on experience and that is not ignorant. I've met some smart, funny, nice, respectful black people before. That's why it doesn't make sense for me to be racist, I would just be lying to myself. But for people who only meet one type of black person, it's easy to understand why they are racist.
silly question...because black people are harder to see, especially in the dark, have rounder facial features than the rest ( typically) , originate racially from invariably poor countries and in historical instances were enslaved or maltreated by whites ( and others) without being able to hold their own.

though rounder features are only bad in that they are different, not necessarily bad

BUT the main reason is that people have an innate need to hate, to dicriminate, to be racists!
Well, I wouldn't hate anyone based strictly on their color. Their skin color just serves as a flag to show that statistically speaking that person is more likely to commit rape and murder, and sell crack and heroin to little kids, and make a mockery of the english language, and glorify being a "thug" in their so called music. That is just the tip of the iceberg. I know when I was 13, I was already having to fight for my life to keep from having my bike stolen by black people. I knew where to buy crack at the time. I had a large group of black people throwing stuff at me for riding my bike through a predominately black college campus. Why would anyone hate them just for being black? They give us so many other reasons to hate them first. I think everyone should be given a fair chance, but I have never met a black person who proved me wrong. In fact, the last time I befriended a black kid, he ripped me off for more than a thousand dollars worth of camera gear. I can't hate them enough.
